“Celebrating 40 Years of Live Theatre”

2009-2010 Season

The American Theatre Company is pleased to announce its 40th Anniversary Season. The 2009-2010 offerings include a wide array of dramas, comedies and musicals.

The American Theatre Company 40th Anniversary Season opened with the Broadway musical Side Show which tells the story of Siamese twin "freaks" who leave the sideshow business for a vaudeville career. The musical follows their search for survival and love through both the high and low points in their careers.

Opening the holiday season was the return of The Santaland Diaries, David Sedaris' humorous and acerbic account of working as an elf at Macy's in Manhattan.  It has become an 'anti-holiday' cult classic.  (For mature audiences).

Rounding out the holidays was ATC's ever popular Christmas ghost story, A Christmas Carol, offering hope through the heart warming tale of a lonely humbug given the rare chance to change his life and find his heart. A story of generosity, family and good will.

March will bring the American Theatre Company's presentation of The Immigrant by Mark Harelik and music by Alper and Knapp.  The American Theatre Company presents this intriguing blend of country & western, Texas swing, and Eastern European music.  A Jewish immigrant man and his wife enter the life of an American couple in Texas.  We witness a new friendship and hope for the future.

The month of May offers the classic American drama Twelve Angry Men - the gripping, penetrating, and engrossing examination of a diverse group of twelve jurors who are uncomfortably brought together to deliberate after hearing the 'facts' in a seemingly open-and-shut murder trial.
