ATC Educational Workshops for 2024

Saturday, February 17

Intro to 2 Dance Styles, Carrie Holmes at Temple of Dance, 8224 E. 41st St. templeofdance.com/ Hip-Hop from 12:30 – 1:30; Contemporary from 2:00 – 3:00. Tuition is $20 for each class, $30 for both. You must wear comfortable clothes to move in. Long sleeves and pants/tights are recommended, as some work will be lying on the floor.  Sneakers are best for Hip-Hop class, and socks or bare feet are best Contemporary.

Preparing & Performing Your Audition Song, Michele Ross at Michele Ross Studios, 316 S. Trenton Ave. michelerossstudios.com/ Morning Session, 9:30 – 12:30.  Afternoon Session, 1:30pm – 5pm.  Each class is limited to 10 students' total.  Tuition - $40. Bring piano music &/or recorded accompaniment for both an up-tempo number and a ballad.  Michele will coach on how to select and perform the right song for your voice and the part you’re auditioning for.

Preparing a Shakespeare Monologue for Auditions, taught by Cody McCoy of Pembroke Players (current director for ATC’s A CHRISTMAS CAROL) Bring a 1-minute, memorized monologue from any Shakespeare play. Cody will coach you to your best performance! Recommended for students auditioning for college programs and scholarships, as well as anyone auditioning for theatrical classics.

Clowning Around with Benjamin Kirsch.

Ben is one of the featured performers with Inspyral Circus, inspyralcircus.com/ Ben will teach an introduction to movement styles, basic juggling and other circus techniques that are great to add as “Special Skills” to any actor’s resume’.

Fundamentals of Film & Television Acting, with Cody Mayo of Cody Mayo Acting Studio, 317 S. Trenton Ave., Suite B. codymayoactingstudio.com/ Cody has built a thriving, exciting studio for aspiring professional actors of all ages and skill levels. Many of his students are finding great success in the industry as Oklahoma continues to grow as a location for shooting film, TV and commercials.

Basics of Stage Combat, with Rich Goss of Silver Wolf Productionssilverwolfproductions.net/home.html Venue TBA.      Many of you know Rich as ATC’s scenic construction guy – he’s the one in the kilt! But as a part-time pirate, he’s also mastered a variety of weapons over the years.  Another great skill for an actor to add to their toolkit.
